General

Is Mentium free?

Yes. Every feature in the game is enjoyable without paying. Optional purchases speed up progression or unlock cosmetics.

Do I need an internet connection?

Not strictly for classic modes, but yes for AI modes, online matches, sync and the daily challenge. Your account needs to connect at least once to back up your progress.

Which devices does it run on?

Android 8.0 (API 26) or higher. Some devices without Google Play Services may not be compatible.

Can I play on multiple devices?

Yes. Sign in with your Google account and all your progress syncs automatically.

Account & progress

How do I change my avatar, frame or banner?

In Profile → Edit profile. The nickname you sign up with is permanent and cannot be changed (together with your #XXXXXXXX tag), but you can freely customize avatar, frame, banner and title from your unlocked options.

I lost my progress when reinstalling, what now?

If you played anonymously (without signing in with Google), progress is local to the device. If you had a Google account, sign in again and everything will be restored.

How do I delete my account?

In Settings → Delete account. It's irreversible and wipes all your data.

Lives & costs

I'm out of lives, what can I do?

• Wait 30 minutes per life (up to 5 free).
• Watch an ad (up to 3 per day).
• Open a chest.
• Ask a friend for a gift.
• Buy Mentis and stack up to 10 lives.

Why do some modes cost lives and others don't?

AI modes or modes with high rewards spend lives to prevent abuse and keep the system balanced.

Can I get my life back if a match goes wrong?

Yes — if the match never actually starts (e.g. an AI loading error), the life is automatically refunded.

Game modes

What's the difference between Classic and AI Category?

• Classic: hand-written questions by our team, repeatable and always the same within each category.
• AI Category: questions generated in the moment by AI on any topic you type. Each match is unique.

Can the AI be wrong?

Very rarely. If you spot an error, hit "Report question" and we'll review it.

How does topic mastery go up?

By playing AI Category on the same topic with high accuracy. Each star (1–5) reflects your level of mastery.

Are Daily Challenge questions the same for everyone?

Yes. Every day all players in the world receive the same 20 questions.

Can I play Detective without spending coins on the interrogation?

Yes. The interrogation is optional; you can skip straight to the accusation. But if you use it, you get valuable clues and bonuses for spotting contradictions.

Online & social

How do I add a friend?

Ask for their tag (#XXXXXXXX, visible on their profile) and search for them from Friends. You can also search by nickname.

Can I challenge a specific friend to a duel?

Yes, from the Friends tab. If they're online, the invitation arrives instantly.

Does my online opponent speak my language?

The system pairs by language when possible. If after a few seconds it can't find a match in your language, it asks you to confirm playing against someone in another language (questions are generated in English).

My opponent disconnected, what happens?

After 50 seconds of inactivity you automatically win the match and receive the reward.

Purchases

Are purchases transferred between devices?

Yes, as long as you sign in with the same Google account.

I bought Mentis and they didn't show up.

Close and reopen the app. If they don't appear within 24 h, contact us at support@kingislandstudio.com with the transaction ID.

I bought "Remove ads" — does it apply to the double-reward ads too?

"Remove ads" eliminates automatic ads (interstitials). The optional ads to "double your reward" remain available if you choose to use them voluntarily.

Missions & achievements

A completed mission isn't being recognized.

Make sure you press "Claim" on the Missions screen. Some missions require finishing the match (not abandoning).

How do I find secret achievements?

The icon and title hint at them once unlocked. They cover challenges like completing a percentage of the game, extremely long streaks, or playing some modes a lot.

Privacy & support

Does Mentium collect my personal data?

Only what's needed for the game to work (nickname, avatar, stats). We never sell data to third parties. Full policy at kingislandstudio.com/en/legal/privacy.

Will there be more modes in the future?

Yes. The roadmap includes more conversational modes and new categories. Track updates from the "What's new" section of the main menu, or from the studio's blog.

What's new in 2.0 "Einstein"

What are Clubs?

Persistent teams (public or private) with their own visual identity, live chat and weekly wars against other clubs. Clubs share weekly XP and climb league divisions. Full breakdown on the dedicated wiki page.

How does Plaza Mentium work?

It's the async match mode: you create the match, pick opponents (friends or club members) and each player answers when they can. Automatic push when it's your turn. Supports 2v2 teams and saves a full replay. Perfect when your friends are on a different schedule than you.

What is Senda Mentium? Do I have to pay?

It's the rewards pass with 100+ levels. Has a free track and a premium track. The free track is available to everyone and gives you coins, Mentis, lives, lifelines, cosmetics and chests at every level. The premium track (€4.99 one-time, not recurring) adds extra rewards + exclusive cosmetics at every level milestone of 25.

Can I disable the rival and Detective suspects' AI voices?

Yes. AI voices are opt-in: off by default. To enable them, go to Settings → AI voices. Once enabled you'll hear your rival, Detective suspects and Traveler local guides speak in real time (Gemini TTS).
