Mentium 1.0 “Curie” is now on Google Play (early access)
We just published Mentium 1.0 “Curie” in early access on Google Play. How to download it, what it includes, and why everyone playing right now gets the Pioneer Pack.
Today is one of those days you remember. After months of closed-beta testing with a small group of players, Mentium 1.0 “Curie” is now available on Google Play in early access.
Why it’s called “Curie”
Every major Mentium release will be named after someone who pioneered something. Version 1.0 goes to Marie Curie — pioneer of radioactivity and the first person to win two Nobel prizes in two different sciences (Physics 1903, Chemistry 1911). It felt like the right name for a first public release: someone who started something new when almost nobody believed it could be done.
The next one will be “Einstein”, then “Feynman”, “Galileo”, “Hypatia”… we already have the list, alphabetical by surname, mixing eras and origins. Whenever a version name changes there’s a meaningful jump inside: new content, rewritten systems, not minor patches.
What’s inside Mentium 1.0 “Curie”
What you’ll find when you download the app:
- 13 game modes: Classic, AI Category, Exam, conversational Detective, Lightning, Traveler, Nexus, Battle Extreme, Debate, Local Duel, Online Duel, plus the daily systems (Daily Challenge, Smart Review, Wheel).
- Curated question bank across 41 categories, complemented by dynamic generation via Gemini when the mode calls for it.
- AI rival with memory that remembers how you play and adapts its behaviour from match to match.
- 10 languages with country-level cultural anchoring: ES, RO, EN, FR, pt-BR, DE, IT, TR, PL, NL.
- 75+ achievements organised by tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Secret).
- 90+ hand-illustrated avatars, plus collectible banners and frames.
- Daily Challenge of 20 questions with a global leaderboard, once per day.
- Daily coach with personalised suggestions based on your history.
- Chest system with queue, free daily chest, and rewards by mode and score.
- Free-to-play with no mandatory paywall — zero content locked behind money alone.
The Pioneer Pack — only during this phase
If you play during early access, there’s a reward that will never be obtainable again.
Anyone who completes 10 games during this phase unlocks the Beta Pioneer achievement, which includes:
- Exclusive Pioneer avatar
- Exclusive banner
- Exclusive frame
- “Pioneer” title
- A Relic chest (the highest rarity in the game)
When early access ends, that door closes. The avatars, banners, frames and the title remain permanently marked as a pre-launch collectible, the way other games handle “early backer” kits. If Mentium interests you and you’ve made it this far — this is literally the best possible moment to start.
Why “early access” and not just “1.0”
Even though we tag the version as 1.0, we’re honest about where the game stands. Calling it early access serves three purposes:
- Collect real, large-scale feedback from people who weren’t in the closed beta. Closed beta gave us very good signals, but we were few. We need to see how the game behaves at scale (servers, AI, economy, translations).
- Tune the economy without “already final” pressure. A free-to-play economy is calibrated over months, not weeks. Better to ship publicly but labelled.
- Reward whoever shows up first. The Pioneer Pack is exactly that: come in now, get something nobody else will be able to get later.
What’s next
After early access we’ll ship minor patches (1.0.1, 1.0.2…) tuning based on what we see. Once Mentium is stable and the economy is calibrated, we’ll announce the end of early access, and later on, version 2.0 “Einstein” with significant new content.
In the meantime, the best way to help:
- Download the game and play those 10 games to claim the Pioneer Pack.
- Report bugs and send feedback to hello@kingislandstudio.com or from inside the game.
- Share with someone who might enjoy it. The first days matter a lot for Play Store ranking.
Thank you for being here this early. This is, literally, just the beginning.
